The Home Business Guide for Do-It-Yourself Entrepreneurs
Home Biz Worker:
Guide to Creating a Home Based Internet Business
Creating and running a home-based business is actually easier than
you might think. The software available for designing your site,
adding a blog and creating an email list are now simple to use, and
inexpensive to own and maintain; much of it is free, as well.
So, let’s jump right in and start swimming. First, you are going to
build a custom website. Why? This will be your “branding” —
where you’ll become recognizable. Websites are now easy to create
— with the right software — without knowing any code. Personally,
though, I think you should at least learn the basics, so you can add
customized elements and know how to fix them if they’re not right.

Next, you’ll add a blog to your site. Why? This is where
you’ll post your articles, news, events, videos and so
much more. Now, you don’t have to call it a blog; in
fact, something like “News and Events” might be more
appropriate. Most importantly, this is how you’ll get
search engine traffic for your site via important elements
called “keywords” (phrases, actually).
How will you keep in touch with your clients, customers
or site visitors? That’s easy. Create an Email List.
Website visitors don’t usually buy your products or
services on the first visit; you’ll need to inform them — build trust —
first. You can do this by offering on-going news about your
products/services. Or, for example, provide a course on how to utilize
your services to their greatest advantage.
To raise interest in your brand and, therefore, website, you will need
to upload videos to YouTube. Why? The Web is becoming
increasingly visual; if you don’t have a YouYube presence, you will be
missing out on a lot of potential traffic. Brand your videos with a
splash screen, watermark or ending credits, and you will be
rewarded. Also, you’re going to embed these videos on your “blog” —
very powerful stuff.
Have you ever heard of facebook? That's what I thought. Everyone is
connecting on facebook. So do you know what you're going to do?
Make a facebook business page! Why? By creating and
continuously adding to a facebook page, you'll be interacting with
potential clients or customers on a two-way social platform.
There is, of course, more to it. And, it’s best to acquire all of the
pieces in the order in which you will apply them. We have prepared
an easy to follow, step-by-step, home “biz” Internet guide. So…
